Aga Kahn Museum and Banquet Hall Wedding - Full of Love, Laughter, and Impeccable Planning
Susana and Jordan’s wedding was one for the books—not just because of how stunning it was, but because of the two incredible people at the heart of it. As I learned over the planning process, they are the eldest siblings in their families. It made a lot of sense when their responsible, thoughtful, and caring natures were at the front of every interaction I’ve had with them, as well as interactions I noticed within their family and friends (if you’re their younger sibling reading this, you’re probably rolling your eyes and muttering something about being bossy or mean under your breath… don’t worry I get you cause I’m the younger sibling as well and they’re ALWAYS so much nicer to others than their own younger sibling!)
These two reminded me why I do what I do. They trusted me and the team completely and gave us the freedom to shoot in a way that felt truly authentic. Couples like them make my job feel less like work and more like I’m attending a party.
To Susana and Jordan: Thank you for letting me be part of your day. You’re absolute gems, and I’ll be rooting for you two forever.
The Initial Meeting— An Abnormal Couple
Let me tell you, it’s not every day the groom takes a lead in wedding planning, but Jordan did just that. He really broke the stereotype and made vendors everywhere shed a tear of joy! From our first consultation call, it was obvious how much these two complement each other. The consultation calls are typically 45 - 60 minutes but this turned into a 90-minute marathon of tangents, laughs, and the kind of banter that made me forget we’d just met.
Jordan’s involvement wasn’t just refreshing—it set the tone for a wedding day full of thoughtfulness, partnership, and a whole lot of love. Grooms who are this hands-on are gems, and trust me, the vendor community agrees!
Getting Ready with Susana
The morning of the wedding started at Susana’s house, and she set the bar real high. The moment I walked in, she offered coffee or breakfast, and practically forced me to eat something before I started working! She then showed me the upstairs setup—an actual mini dress shop she’d created. Her gown was on a mannequin, her shoes perfectly displayed, and she had printed and framed her favourite engagement session photos we did earlier in the summer displayed on the wall and table. I mean, I half-expected a sales associate to pop out!
And just when I thought she couldn’t get any sweeter, she handed me a bag of baked goods for the road. A loot bag and a photographer’s dream setup? Susana, you’ve officially spoiled me.
Getting Ready with Jordan
Meanwhile, Jordan was across the street (literally) from a golf course with his dad and brother, squeezing in a few swings before heading to the ceremony. Timing-wise, he had it all down to a science—no stress, no rushing, just smooth sailing. If there’s a “Most Organized Groom” award, Jordan’s taking home the trophy.
Wholesome Ceremony
The ceremony itself was a tearjerker in the best way. Families and friends had clearly been blending for years, and the whole room practically screamed, “Finally!” Post-ceremony, Susana and Jordan made sure to greet every single guest, which says a lot about how much they value the people in their lives.
Wedding Portraits and Family Photo Dynamics
Next, we headed to the Aga Khan Museum for portraits, and as you’d expect from an organized ad loving couple, these two were flawless. They always mentioned about feeling awkward in front of the camera, but they took direction so well it was like working with seasoned models (honestly… just look at the photos). Plus, they planned extra time for the shoot, so they we’re able to have a quick lunch before we got started. (Pro tip: couples who’ve eaten are happy and photogenic couples)
Family photos followed at a studio, and here’s where Susana was truly giving eldest sibling energy. She had the shot list memorized, directed everyone like a pro, and kept things moving faster than I thought possible. Multiple times throughtout, she was reminding Jordan to smile the way she likes, making her family do silly poses that she wants, and gently (but firmly) kicking people out of the frame when their turn was over. Honestly, it was like watching a conductor at a symphony— only with more “Jordan, smile with teeth!” and fewer violins.
An Evening to Remember
The reception was the definition of elegance, with black-and-white decor, personal touches like custom stir sticks, wedding newspapers, and a vibe that screamed “classy, but make it fun.” When we did the room reveal, Susana and Jordan’s faces lit up. Her vision had truly come to life.
The reception itself was buzzing and full of energy, from their first dance complete with dry ice and fireworks like fairytale, to speeches that made everyone laugh, cry, or both. Throughout the night, Susana and Jordan barely sat down, making sure to visit every table to show why every guest was invited for the most important day of their life.
And when the dance floor opened? Absolute magic. Everyone—from toddlers to grandmas—was up dancing, and the energy was electric. Capturing those moments on camera was such a joy!
